Addition of a 1.2 mm Width Insert & Monoblock Holder to the GY Grooving Series for High Precision Machining
September 1, 2022MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added a 1.2 mm width insert and monoblock holder to the GY Series of grooving tools and holders for high precision machining. This addition will be released on September 1st.
MITSUBISHI MATERIALS has adopted a design optimised for high precision machining of small parts and provides holders that are compatible with mounting in a wide range of machine tools. The GY series features a highly reliable insert clamp design.
In order to expand the applicable groove widths, a 1.2 mm width insert and monoblock holder have been added to the range.
Key features of the 1.2 mm width insert and monoblock holder:
1. The new addition can machine groove widths of 1.2 mm which is narrower than the usual 1.5 mm width of conventional inserts.
2. The monoblock holder achieves high rigidity through a strong upper clamp section, a stable lower face, and an enlarged insert mounting area which significantly suppress chatter, vibration and tool deflection.
