Addition of New Radii- R1.6 and R2.0 to the Double-Sided Inserts for the WWX400 Series of General Purpose Shoulder Milling Cutters
July 1, 2022MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has released two additional insert radii sizes, R1.6 and R2.0 for the WWX400 Series of general purpose shoulder milling cutters. These additions to the series will be released on July 1st.
The double-sided insert type for the WWX400 series adopts a uniquely developed, proprietary “X-type” insert that features strength and is also economical to use. The double-sided insert with 6 corners has a large R-wiper edge to achieve good surface finishes even when using standard inserts.
MITSUBISHI MATERIALS is pleased to announce the addition of two larger corner radii R1.6 and R2.0, which provide greater fracture resistance during high feed machining.
Key features of the additional, R1.6 and 2.0 corner radii inserts:
1. Supports a wide range of cutting conditions due to the larger corner radius.
2. The larger corner radius improves the strength of the cutting edge and realizes high efficiency machining.
