New VQT6UR Barrel End mills for Finish Cutting of Titanium Alloys

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President – Shinichi Nakamura, Headquarters: Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has launched VQT6UR, a barrel end mill for finish machining titanium alloys.

The VQT6UR barrel end mill, for titanium alloy finishing is a high-grade tool for the ultra efficient machining required by the modern aerospace engine industry. The new seamless two radius design achieves highly effective machining; the nose radius is suitable for fillet milling and the tangential form radius is perfect for machining blade surfaces.

There are 4 items available, from the Smart miracle end mill series for machining difficult-to cut materials.

Features of the VQT6UR

1. Compared with a ball nose end mill, the tangential form radius is much larger and creates a controllable cusp height. This design permits highly efficient machining with a larger pick feed.

2. The 3-flute end cutting edge ensures a wide flute and improves chip evacuation.

3. The multi-cutting edge design of the 6-flute peripheral cutting edge achieves high efficiency machining and the irregular pitch prevents chattering.
