MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION, Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Kazuo Ohara, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku Tokyo) has added boring bars and positive inserts to the range of turning tools for high precision and small parts machining. These will be available from April 1st.

In recent years, due to the shift to electric vehicles, the demand for small diameter and high-precision parts related to electronic control is increasing. These boring bars for turning small parts exhibit excellent performance in small diameters, especially where high precision, productivity and quality are required. A wide range is available that matches the specifications of existing machine tools, and this has received high praise from customers who use small automatic lathes.

Main features of boring bars and positive inserts for high precision and small parts machining

  1. Boring bars for machining small parts have a total length that corresponds to the specifications of automatic lathe companies that produce small parts, which means there is no need to shorten the shank.
     
  2. Internal through coolant carbide shanks with excellent chip evacuation and a minimum machining diameter of 9 mm are available as standard.
     
  3. ISO inserts can be used for a wide range of applications, materials and workpiece geometries.
