Addition of VQN4MVRB and VQN6MVRB Corner Radius Types for Machining Heat Resistant Super Alloys to the SMART MIRACLE End Mill Series

MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added the VQN4MVRB, a 4-flute corner radius end mill, and the VQN6MVRB, a 6-flute corner radius end mill to the SMART MIRACLE series of end mills for machining difficult-to-cut materials. These two new end mills will go on sale from April 1st.

The highly rated SMART MIRACLE end mill series for machining difficult-to-cut materials has achieved great machining efficiency and an extended tool life when machining titanium and heat-resistant super alloys.

MITSUBISHI MATERIALS will expand this series with the addition of the VQN4MVRB and the VQN6MVRB, 4 and 6-flute corner radius ball end mills that specialise in machining Ni-based heat-resistant super alloys that are often used for aircraft components.

Main features of the VQN4MVRB and VQN6MVRB

1. Improved wear and chipping resistance due to the (Al, Ti, Si)N based coating which also offers excellent heat resistance when machining heat-resistant super alloys.

2. Highly efficient and stable machining are possible because of the optimized number of flutes and the irregular helix design that dampens vibration.

3. Newly optimised rake angle and radius curve of the original R cutting edge, which is ideal for machining heat resistant super alloys, improves fracture resistance and enables highly efficient and stable machining.
