DWAE Mini-Size added to the WSTAR Drill Series of Solid Carbide Drills for Automatic and Small Lathes

This new addition to the solid carbide WSTAR Drill Series for automatic and small lathes, DWAE, has low cutting resistance, excellent chip control, and provides stable hole drilling.

MITSUBISHI MATERIALS is pleased to announce the addition of 40 mini-size items with a drill diameter of 1mm to 2.9 mm to meet the needs in small diameter drilling.

Main features of the DWAE mini-size drills

The new cutting edge shape achieves a low cutting resistance that allows highly stable drilling even where the rigidity of workpiece materials or clamping is difficult to secure.

1. The unique minimized length of the lower part of the neck achieves improved tool rigidity and chip evacuation.

2. Excellent wear resistance under cutting conditions in the low to medium speed range are achieved by adopting the PVD coated carbide grade DP102A.

3. Added mini-sizes with drill diameters of 1 mm to 2.9 mm.
