Launch of DXAS - Exchangeable Head type Carbide Drills from the TRISTAR Drill Series

MITSUBISHI MATERIALS U.S.A. CORPORATION has announced that the launch of the DXAS exchangeable head type carbide drills.

The DXAS range of exchangeable head drills from the TRISTAR drill series, is a new generation of drills that follows the DVAS solid carbide range. These drills provide customers with three main benefits of reduced running costs, together with both high precision and high efficiency

Tool News

Main features of the DXAS exchangeable head drills:

  • Designed to achieve surprisingly long tool life and dramatically reduced running costs. Together with improved accuracy and efficiency, hole quality comparable to conventional solid carbide drills can be achieved.

  • With the perfect centering feature that minimizes misalignment between the centre axis of the head and the holder when tightening, accuracy comparable to holes drilled by solid carbide type drills can be achieved.

  • The two-screw tightening suppresses deformation of the holder and achieves high-strength fastening. This secure clamping provides reliability even under high-load conditions, therefore machining efficiency can be greatly improved.

  • The low resistance cutting edge geometry dramatically improves machining stability when drilling low-rigidity workpieces. It also contributes to improved machining efficiency and reduced power consumption.

  • The DXAS drills are available from Ø18 - Ø30 mm, in lengths L/D=1.5-8.
